The Development in China's Heartland

I think the economic opportunities in China's heartland will fuel the next wave of the country's economic growth. With exports dwindling and the heartland developing, I think the two cities with the greatest growth potential in China over the next five years are Wuhan and Chongqing.

Wuhan is strategically located right in the center of China, next to the Yangtze River, which makes it a main regional shipping hub. It also has two of the finest universities in China – Wuhan University and Huagang Institute of Technology.

And Chongqing is the western center of business and commerce in China. It is focused mainly on domestic consumption for its economic growth, and as migrant workers return home, the city is working to efficiently employ them.
